F*ck balance, what is your next right step?

F*ck balance! What is your next right step? As you watch someone gingerly walk on a balance beam (as I watched my son at the park with his 14 size feet) notice how first they need to slow down. Then be ready to look for nearby support, if needed. You learn something by falling as well, as you get back up and try again.

Such a metaphor for life, for instance when it comes to support have you noticed that the universe gives you what you need- as you step up and reach out for support- you are taken care of. When this happens enough times, congratulations- you have learned to trust the process! It’s not easy to live a conscious life. The old ways of numbing ourselves are no longer effective. We have to feel & process what is here, right now.

This week seeing the photo of the white U-S border agent on horseback charging toward a black Haitian migrant stumbling on the ground- along the U-S border with Mexico- was heartbreaking. No one leaves their home under these conditions unless home has become hell. When images like this are shared on social media, we cannot turn away. It’s easy to hide- then feel alone, anxious, lost or whatever the unpleasant state is. While it’s fine and required that we rest, we also will shut down if our resting turns into hiding for too long.

The world needs our engagement. Sometimes it starts with just naming the thing, talking about the pain we are witnessing. Let me reach out to a wise person, a person who sees me. “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.”

Allow yourself to receive support, to be seen. The time is now. We find power and solutions when we gather to look at what actions we can take to help heal our selves and ultimately the world.

.

May we all learn to listen and take action from our hearts.

If you feel the pull, this is our last call for  “Keeping the Heart Doors Open” an online workshop tomorrow, Thursday 9/23 from 630p- 8p.
